Boston Marathon "Week in Rap"
Boston Marathon "Week in Rap"
Shout out to Jefferson Middle School in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Thanks for rockin’ with us. We are Flocabulary, and this is the Week in Rap.
It seems like the world sees tragedy often,
This week the bad news happened in Boston.
Their marathon was the target this time,
When two bombs exploded at the finish line.
Three were killed, over a hundred injured,
It made the whole scene a very gruesome picture.
The FBI led the hunt for who did it, though,
Pouring over every photo and video.
The case could drag on for weeks and months,
I just hope next year no one is scared to run.
You may have heard that a letter to the president
Was laced with ricin; it’s highly poisonous.
And another one got sent to a senator,
But both were intercepted and no one was injured.
In other news, the genome game could change,
The Supreme Court just heard an interesting case.
A company wants to patent human genes,
We aren't talking denim, but DNA, it seems.
Golf may never be the same again either, yo,
Guan Tianlang, at fourteen years old,
Played in the masters and gave a good show,
He didn't win, but it was incredible.
Gold has always been a sound investment,
But Monday the price of the precious metal plummeted.
It’s a big deal if you play the stock market,
And confuses things if we talk economics.
Beyonce and Jay-Z took a trip to Cuba,
The media was like, “Yo, what are y'all doin?!”
A trade embargo affects US travel,
They got a license, though, so they were good to go.
An army chaplain got his medal of honor,
He would have seen the day if he had lived longer.
Posthumous is better than not at all, though,
The medal was accepted for him by his nephew.
